Our Story
How a single moment of conviction became a statewide movement for Florida's coaches.
The Problem
For years, institutions across the state accepted the treatment of coaches in Florida.
School districts normalized it.
Associations collected dues from coaches year after year.
Everyone saw it. No one stepped up to change it.
The Reality
Coaches were underpaid, overworked, and overlooked.
Many were balancing multiple jobs just to stay in the profession.
The expectation was simple: give more, ask for less.
And for a long time, that is exactly what happened.
It Didn't.
Dr. Andrew Ramjit
Dr. Andrew Ramjit, then serving as the County Athletic Director in Brevard County, saw it firsthand. Not from a distance, but from within the system.
He saw coaches being marginalized.
He saw a lack of respect for the profession.
He saw individuals dedicating countless hours while struggling to make ends meet.
And he remembered.
What He Remembered
He remembered painting fields by hand on Wednesday nights.
He remembered the time away from his young family.
He remembered opening his first check as a 24 year old assistant coach and seeing $56.13 for 2 weeks of work.
The Moment That Never Left
$56.13
For 2 weeks of work. As a 24-year-old assistant coach.
The Turning Point
When he reached out across the state looking for support, for alignment, for someone willing to step in and address the issue, he was turned away at every stop.
No one wanted to take it on.
So he made a decision.
"If no one wants to do this, I'll do it myself."
Dr. Andrew Ramjit
Founder / Executive Director, Florida Coaches Coalition
What began as a single voice quickly turned into something much bigger.
Coaches started speaking up.
Stories started surfacing.
The reality that many had quietly accepted was now being challenged publicly.
What was once isolated became unified.
What was once ignored became impossible to overlook.
The Florida Coaches Coalition Was Born
Not as an organization built on comfort, but as a movement built on conviction.
And From That Point Forward, The Standard Began To Change.
