Frequently Asked Questions
Becoming a member of the Florida Coaches Coalition (FCC) is simple and completely free. At this time, there are no membership fees because our mission is to support and advocate for high school coaches across Florida without creating any financial barriers. While we continue to fight to ensure coaches in Florida receive at least minimum wage for every hour worked, we remain committed to never charging a coach for membership.
Our ability to offer free membership is made possible through strong partnerships with businesses and organizations that believe in the value of the high school coaching profession. These partners help us subsidize all membership costs, allowing every coach in the state to join, stay informed, and benefit from our advocacy efforts and resources at no personal expense.
You can register to be a member by clicking the Join the Coalition button on the top right hand corner of the screen. Once you are registered, you will receive updates on events, legislative efforts, professional development opportunities, and other initiatives aimed at supporting coaches throughout the state.
If you are interested in becoming a coach in Florida, the first step is to review the official requirements set by the Florida Department of Education (FLDOE). The FLDOE provides detailed information about certification options, coursework, background checks, and any additional training needed to coach in Florida schools.
You can check the official requirements and begin the process by visiting the FLDOE Certification Website. This resource will guide you through the steps to ensure you meet all state standards to become a certified coach in Florida.
We are actively working on bringing legal counsel on board for our members so that we can better support you in the future. At this time, however, the Florida Coaches Coalition (FCC) does not provide direct legal advice. Instead, we can refer you to legal services based on your individual circumstance.
If you need legal assistance, please email us at info@floridacoaches.com, and we will help connect you with the appropriate resources.
No, membership is open to anyone who supports high school coaches in Florida. While our primary mission is to advocate for and support high school coaches,
we welcome Athletic Directors, Division 1 coaches, community members, parents, and anyone else who wants to stand with us in strengthening the high school coaching profession.
In fact, we already have more than 200 Athletic Directors, Division 1 coaches, and many community members who have joined our membership to help amplify our voice and expand our impact across the state.
