Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about the Florida Coaches Coalition, what we stand for, and how we are changing the landscape of high school athletics in Florida.

We are not here to maintain the system. We are here to improve it.

Section 01

Who We Are

A clear understanding of what the Coalition is, why it exists, and who it serves.

Built for coaches. Not funded by them.

The Florida Coaches Coalition is a statewide organization focused on advocating for, supporting, and elevating high school coaches across Florida. We bring together coaches, athletic directors, and community stakeholders to create alignment, drive change, and improve the overall landscape of high school athletics.

The Coalition was created in response to long standing issues within the coaching profession, including low compensation, lack of support, and limited representation in decision making. What had been accepted for years was no longer acceptable, and the Coalition was formed to address these challenges through organized action.

Any coach, athletic director, or individual who supports high school athletics can be part of the Coalition. We are inclusive of all sports, all districts, and all levels of experience.

No. There are no membership dues to be part of the Florida Coaches Coalition. We believe access should not be limited by financial barriers.

Section 02

What We Do & How We Operate

How the Coalition operates and the impact it has created.

Thousands of coaches. Statewide reach. Zero dues. Real impact.

We organize coaches across the state, provide resources, coordinate advocacy efforts, host events, and build partnerships that directly benefit the coaching community. Our work focuses on both immediate support and long term systemic change.

Unlike traditional associations, the Florida Coaches Coalition was built on advocacy, alignment, and action.

We do not operate as a passive organization. We organize participation, coordinate efforts across districts, and focus on creating measurable outcomes that directly impact coaches.

Over the past 4 years, we have proven this is not temporary. Based on our growth and success, we are now evolving toward operating as a full scale association while maintaining the same level of urgency and execution that built this movement.

We are not a flash in the pan.

We are building something that is here for the long haul.

In a short period of time, the Florida Coaches Coalition has engaged thousands of coaches across the state.

We have hosted large scale events, activated partnerships, influenced conversations at both the district and state level, and created a unified platform for coaches to be heard.

What once existed in isolation is now connected.

And the momentum continues to build.

We provide access to resources, advocacy tools, leadership development opportunities, and a statewide network of support. Coaches gain the ability to engage in structured efforts that create real change within their districts, while also connecting with others facing similar challenges.

Section 03

Advocacy. Action. Accountability.

How the Coalition approaches change — and why it works.

We have taken this directly to Tallahassee. We are not waiting to be invited into the conversation.

Advocacy is a core function of the Florida Coaches Coalition, and it starts at the highest levels.

We have taken our efforts directly to Tallahassee, engaging with legislators, presenting on the realities coaches face, and ensuring that the profession is represented in conversations where decisions are made.

We do not approach advocacy cautiously. We approach it honestly.

We speak on the issues that others are unwilling to address publicly. We bring real experiences, real numbers, and real stories into rooms where they have historically been ignored.

This is not filtered messaging. This is direct representation.

As we continue to grow, our advocacy efforts will expand to include coordinated engagement at the district level, ensuring that both state and local systems are held accountable.

Yes.

The issue has never been awareness. It has been action.

Because no one organized at scale to challenge it.

Individual voices were easy to ignore. A unified movement is not.

Section 04

How You Plug In

Ways to get involved and make an impact within the Coalition.

This only works if people show up.

Regional Directors serve as local leaders who connect the Coalition to individual districts. They coordinate communication, drive engagement, and help execute initiatives within their assigned regions.

Ambassadors support Regional Directors by expanding local reach, engaging coaches, and assisting with initiatives at the district level. They play a key role in building momentum within each region.

You can get involved by joining a committee, serving as an Ambassador, participating in advocacy efforts, volunteering at events, or helping expand the Coalition within your region.

We host clinics, leadership sessions, regional meetings, and statewide events that bring together coaches, partners, and speakers to share knowledge, build relationships, and strengthen the coaching community.

Section 05

Partnerships & Funding

How the Coalition sustains itself and who it works with.

We have built this without charging coaches a dollar. That will never change.

The Florida Coaches Coalition operates as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.

Our funding comes from a combination of donations, grants, and strategic partnerships.

We collaborate with organizations that align with our mission to provide value to coaches while also supporting the sustainability and growth of the Coalition.

One thing is intentional and will never change: We do not charge coaches a dollar to be part of this.

Coaches already give more than enough to their programs, their schools, and their communities. Financial barriers should never prevent someone from being part of something designed to support them.

We have helped move legislation, built a statewide network, and created real impact without ever collecting dues from coaches.

We partner with organizations that believe in supporting coaches and want to align with a statewide movement.

These partnerships focus on:

Delivering real value to coaches

Creating meaningful engagement opportunities

Supporting long term growth of the Coalition

We do not believe in transactional sponsorships. We believe in alignment and impact.

Section 06

Where We Stand

The Coalition's independence and what that means for coaches.

We answer to coaches. Not institutions.

No.

The Florida Coaches Coalition operates independently.

This allows us to advocate freely, remain unbiased, and focus solely on what is best for coaches across the state.

The reality is, this organization was founded because existing institutions, many of which were closely associated with governing bodies, refused to fully serve the very individuals they were created to support.

We are not here to debate whether we were right.

But we are absolutely willing to say this: They were wrong. And we are here to correct it.

Section 07

Where This Is Going

The long-term vision and what comes next for the Coalition.

This is not a moment. This is a movement.

Our long term goals extend beyond short term improvements.

We are working to:

Strengthen and expand recently passed compensation legislation

Establish coaching as a recognized profession in the State of Florida, not a teaching supplement

Improve consistency in support systems across all districts

Increase coach representation in decision making

Build a sustainable statewide network that continues to advocate for future generations

This is about redefining the profession.

Because it requires alignment, consistency, and people willing to step up.

For years, the issues existed. Coaches knew it. Organizations saw it.

But no one organized at scale. That is what changed.

Hard Truths

No Filter. No Spin.

Why are coaches underpaid?

Because it was accepted.

Why didn't it change?

Because no one organized at scale.

Are districts aware?

Yes.

So what's different now?

We are.

If you've been waiting for change, it's already happening.

The question is whether you're part of it.
